Crazy few weeks
Hi All, sorry for the lack of updates or photos we had rather a major disaster a few weeks ago when one the the pipes in the loft froze overnight then thawed out very quickly causing it to split and proceed to empty the contents of the water talk through the ceiling and then pissed the mains water everywhere. We ended up having the fire brigade out with their thermal camera to check for burning we could smell (electrical).
The final damage once we’d got the got the stopcock off and the water has stopped pouring we were left without running water or electricity. Thankfully Tracy’s mum was able to put us up for a couple of nights whilst we sorted out the insurance nightmare.
We are covered for alternative accommodation if our property is uninhabitable (under our contents insurance) which as you have read above it was, yet they wouldn’t budge until their loss adjuster had been to have a look and in the meantime we were effectively homeless. At this point our manging agent gave our insurers a call on our behalf and within minutes had them sending a cheque for rent up front on another property!
We’ve been in the other place now a couple of weeks and it really does suck not being at home and I’m missing our cats like mad as they have had to go into a cattery (again covered phew!) .
Back on the positive side I have managed to get out with my camera again in the past few days and have a few shots from Eastbourne and Seaford in Sussex which I will post up as soon as I’ve had a chance to get them off the camera.
